DetailsMy 2012 New Years Resolution | Sow Seeds of Peace
December 28, 2011“We often think of peace as the absence of war, that if powerful countries would reduce their weapon arsenals, we could have peace. But if we look deeply into the weapons, we see our own minds- our own prejudices, fears and ignorance. Even if we transport all the bombs to the moon, the roots of war and the roots of bombs are still there, in our hearts and minds, and sooner or later we will make new bombs. To work for peace is to uproot war from ourselves and from the hearts of men and women. The biggest difference I can see is that while yoga helps you feel centered and relaxed, rock climbing bolts you into the present moment with a big dose of adrenaline. Chris Sharma (considered to be one of the world's best professional rock climbers) recently got an introduction to yoga at Wanderlust. "It's really good to be serene and tranquil. But at the same time it's like, life's not always like that and we gotta get agro sometimes. I think both are true to our nature of being human."...

A Resource for Yoga Teachers
December 13, 2011With the growing number of yoga teachers in the Phoenix area of Arizona and the number of yoga studios growing, well, not as fast, a competitive culture has developed within our local yoga community. Most of us can well admit to experiencing it, some of us may even contribute to it. But let's face it, if we believe what we teach, we must demonstrate generosity, compassion, and loving acceptance of one another even especially if it costs us a little blow to the ego. One benefit of a tightly kn...
